David Bowie & Tin Machine : His Master's Voice prévu le 21 septembre 2018 (2 CD ; Shockwaves SHOCK03CD)
David Bowie & Tin Machine : His Master's Voice prévu le 6 décembre 2019 (2 CD ; Shockwaves ; nouvelle édition ?)

Prends ça dans l'os Parl Evil or Very Mad ph Twisted Evil ne Wink

Version 2018 a écrit:
By the end of the 80s David Bowie was burned out. He looked back with dissatisfaction at what he would later call his Phil Collins years the period in which he conformed to the bright, synthetic pop sounds of the era and made unchallenging music for a mainstream audience. Bowie decided that he needed to stop, to do something else, to do the opposite of 80s superstardom. So he started a band. While on the Glass Spider tour Sara Terry, a member of Bowie s press staff, had approached him with a tape of her husband, Reeves Gabrels, playing guitar. The singer was impressed enough to start working with Gabrels and, in an obvious attempt to distance himself from his recent sound, sought a return to the unpolished garage and punk landscapes that predated the 80s. He revisited his old collaboration with Iggy Pop to recruit the Sales brothers, Hunt & Tony, the rhythm section on Pop s Lust For Life, which Bowie had co-written and produced, and formed Tin Machine. Tin Machine s eponymous debut was released in May 1989 to general approval and strong sales, the feeling being that Bowie had turned a corner, and recovered his artistic mojo. The band went out on tour in June and, in another conscious break with Bowie s recent past, they performed exclusively in small venues, appearing on stage in sharp suits and with minimal lighting. When Tin Machine s second album, Tin Machine II, surfaced in September 1991 it failed to replicate the success of its predecessor, with the novelty of Bowie in a new band apparently starting to wear off. Although the group embarked on the seven-month It s My Life tour, across 91 and 92, Tin Machine disbanded shortly after, consigned to being an interesting experiment within the larger Bowie narrative. The shows presented here come from both Tin Machine tours. The performance at La Cigalle, Paris, on June the 25th 1989 is an introduction to the brand new band. Broadcast in the US on the Westwood One network and introduced by Bowie, it captures the excitement that he felt about Tin Machine and the creative energy around the project. The gig at the New York Academy of Music on the November 29, 1991, forms a more complete record of what Tin Machine were about. Broadcast during the US leg of It s My Life tour, it features a full selection from Tin Machine and Tin Machine II and showcases what an exceptional live band they were. For many, these recordings will provoke a sense of regret that Bowie didn t continue the journey a little longer.

Live...

David Bowie, live from the Olympic Stadium, Montreal, Canada on August 30th 1987 Strung out in heaven s high, the eternal lost astronaut walked out on to the stage at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal and gave an inspired joyride through his then 20-album career. 1987 s Glass Spider tour was his most theatrically ambitious to date and although it had its critics as a spectacle, musically, it was spellbinding. While Low, Lodger and Ziggy fail to emerge, Bowie has plenty more to play with, even after his highly successful Serious Moonlight tour. Here is Bowie, back at his beguiling best in front of 80,000 ecstatic fans. Protus proudly presents the entire King Biscuit Flower Hour broadcast of the legendary Starman in concert. Professionally re-mastered original broadcast with liners and rare photos.

David Bowie with Nine Inch Nails : Live In '95 prévu le 5 octobre 2018 (3 CD ; Protus PR2CD3002)

Citation:
David Bowie with Nine Inch Nails, live from the Riverport Amphitheater, St. Louis on 11th October and the Shoreline Amphitheater, California on 21st October. Combing contemporary and retrospective artists could always be controversial and disastrous, but in the right hands, it could equally prove inviting. The concept was innovative for its time, but received low sales and mixed reviews. In 1995, Nine Inch Nails co-headlined the Dissonance tour with David Bowie as part of their Self Destruct Touring Cycle . For Bowie, he was promoting his latest album Outside while returning to a territory that recalled his cherished Berlin period. Back with Brian Eno and riding high with The Hearts Filthy Lesson, his 1995 collaboration with new industrial gods NIN was both brave, and rewarding for all. Protus proudly presents a prized collection of complete FM radio broadcasts from his 1995 USA tour in support of his 19th studio album Outside. Professionally remastered original Nationwide/KLLT-FM radio broadcasts with background liners and rare photos.

The Marquee Club Rehearsals London 1973 prévu le 21 septembre 2018 (2 CD ; Protus PR2CD3001) => 26 octobre 2018

Citation:
Recorded at London`s legendary Marquee Club in October 1973, these recordings are taken from Bowie`s rehearsals in preparation for a television show to be broadcast that he had named the 1980 Floor Show. The rehearsals show David and his band, Mick Ronson – guitar, Trevor Bolder – bass, Mike Garson -piano, Aynsley Dunbar – drums and backing singers, the Astronettes, running through songs taken from his breakthrough album The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, and the follow up album Aladdin Sane, his recently recorded collection of cover versions Pin Ups LP and some songs from the forthcoming Diamond Dogs album. This collection includes alternative versions and different takes of these now well-known songs and are a fascinating glimpse of David Bowie at the height of his early success.

The Lost Sessions prévu le 2 novembre 2018 (2 CD ; Left Field Media)

Citation:
PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED RADIO SESSIONS 1966 - 1972 While David Bowie s early career was somewhat fragmented, a little disjointed and often sporadic, he was rarely off the wireless. And the sessions he recorded for radio across this period, makes for a fascinating body of work. This 2 x CD collection features nearly 2 hours of such FM sessions, previously unreleased on CD and in near perfect quality. Including cuts originally recorded for shows such as Top Gear, Sounds Of The Seventies, The Sunday Show and a number of other programmes, this set will delight Bowie fans as it completes the availability of material originally intended to be heard only via the airwaves.
