In The White Room prévu le 6 novembre 2020 (1 CD ; Zip City ZCCD 104)
Après une série d'annonces bien pourries, voici enfin une release intéressante même si elle arrive après la version vinyle The Lady's Bass Went Off, la version DBAS et la version Golden Eggs. Zip City est un label qui permet d'avoir des bootlegs de qualité à un prix défiant toute concurrence (voir Under Pressure et 50th Birthday Broadcast). Il semblerait que l'on ait ici une copie directe du "The White Room" du label japonais "The David Bowie Archive Series".
| Citation: | STUNNING 1995 BROADCAST RECORDING, MADE IN THE WAKE OF THE OUTSIDE ALBUM Following David Bowie s critically well received and commercially successful Black Tie, White Noise album, released in April 1993 Bowie s first solo-effort of the 1990 s - he explored new directions on The Buddha of Suburbia, ostensibly a soundtrack album of music composed for the BBC television adaptation of Hanif Kureishi's novel. Only the title track had been used in the TV drama, although some of his themes for the series were also present on the album. It contained more of the new elements introduced on Black Tie White Noise, and also signalled a move towards alternative rock. The album was a critical success but received a low-key release and only made No. 87 on the UK charts. Then, in September 1995, Bowie released Outside, which re-united him with Brian Eno on a quasi-industrial collection, originally conceived as the first volume in a non-linear narrative of art and murder. Featuring characters from a short story written by Bowie, the album achieved UK and US chart success, and yielded three Top 40 UK singles. In a move that provoked mixed reactions from both fans and critics, Bowie chose Nine Inch Nails as his touring partner for the Outside Tour, visiting cities in Europe and North America between September 1995 and February 1996. In December 1995, Bowie appeared on a special, extended edition of Chanel 4 s the White Room music show, on which he - alongside his band, made up of Carlos Alomar and Reeves Gabrels on guitar, Gail Ann Dorsey on bass and vocals, George Simms, Peter Scwartz and Mike Garson on keyboards and Zachary Alford on drums, played a quite extraordinary set lasting just short of an hour in length. Clearly and understandably wishing to promote the new record, the band performed several tracks from such with a smattering of cuts from previous releases, although not the obvious choices, this time preferring to perform less known songs, making the entire concert something of an unusual event for Bowie fans. Previously unreleased on CD, this recording is now available on this new release, certain to delight enthusiasts of this truly great composer and performer from across the globe.

Grosse innovation du label Reel To Reel qui passe au CD après avoir déjà sorti plusieurs versions vinyles de cette compilation. Comme ça tout le monde est content. Et en plus le CD sort dans un packaging deluxe qui fera rêver tous les acquéreurs des lives de la box Brilliant Live Adventures. Attention adressez vous directement à la source pour avoir des prix très corrects

Voici une nouvelle réédition des 12 titres diffusés à la radio du show du 12 décembre 1978 à Tokyo. A réserver à ceux qui n'ont vraiment pas encore ce grand classique.

| Citation: | | THE CLASSIC 1978 TOKYO BROADCAST RECORDING David Bowie s move to West Berlin in late 1976 was the biggest and most important change during the man s career. Interest in the burgeoning German music scene, as well as his on-going drug addiction, prompted him to move there to clean up and revitalise his career. He was often now seen riding a bicycle between his apartment on Hauptstraße in Schöneberg and Hansa Tonstudio, the recording studio he used, located near the Berlin Wall. While working with Brian Eno and sharing an apartment with Iggy Pop, he began to focus on minimalist, ambient music for the first of three albums, co-produced with Tony Visconti, that became known as his Berlin Trilogy. During the same period, Iggy Pop, with Bowie as a co-writer and musician, completed his solo album. Enamoured with the burgeoning artistic scene in the city, by 78 Bowie had brought out Low and Heroes, while also having served as producer and de facto musical director for Iggy Pop. The emergence of Krautrock had had a profound effect on Bowie, leading him to take a more abstract and experimental approach to his craft. The result was ultimately successful, with Low and Heroes being hailed as two of his greatest albums. Having by now kicked the drug habit that had plagued him during the years predating his move east, Bowie embarked on the mammoth Isolar II Tour, playing 78 shows across four continents over the course of the year. With a rejuvenated Bowie at the helm, these concerts were considered some of the best he had ever performed. The tour concluded at Japan s NHK Hall on 12th December, which was the subject of a live broadcast transmitted across many parts of the world. Le label Reel To Reel multiplie les sorties en cette fin d'année avec une nouvelle version en vinyle bleu de son Live In Japan 1990 et avec de nouvelles ressorties (ou rééditions ?) de son calalogue comme son coffret Live en 10 CD.

Après les multiples éditions de son Glass Spider Tour du Montreal 1987, Reel To Reel revient à nouveau avec des vinyles pour collectionneurs hardcores du probable Sydney 1987.
Mise à jour du 02/01/2021 : ces sorties restent à confirmer car il semblerait qu'il s'agisse plutôt de ressorties du "Glass Spider Tour" justement.

Reel To Reel revient avec un nouveau CD après l'excellent In The Beginning du mois dernier avec son excellent packaging. La preuve que l'on peut encore sortir des CD de qualité. On espère juste des setlits un peu plus originales...

London Bye Ta Ta prévu en janvier 2021 (1 CD ; Good Ship Funke GSF 058)
Bonne nouvelle pour l'an prochain avec le retour de Good Ship Funke (Isolar II Tour 1978 et Small Club Broadcast) et cette réédition de l'Astoria 1999. Certes le show est incomplet pour tenir sur un seul CD mais il ne sera pas cher du tout et facile à trouver donc pourquoi s'en priver.
| Citation: | CLASSIC LONDON BROADCAST FROM THE HOURS TOUR David Bowie s 21st studio album Hours was released on 4th October 1999 on Virgin Records. It was Bowie's final album for the EMI sub-label, and was the first complete album by a major artist available to download over the Internet, preceding the physical release by two weeks. Making extensive use of live instruments, the album was Bowie's exit from heavy electronica, a genre he had absorbed himself in over previous years. Bowie took the album on the road for the 3-month Hours Tour in late 1999. Guitarist Page Hamilton, founding member of Helmet, was drafted to replace Reeves Gambrels on the tour, whose final performance and association with Bowie ended at the VH1 Storytellers performance on 23 August 1999. Rumours of a split were denied by both parties, until a few months later the story changed as the guitarist admitted that he and Bowie had drifted apart. In addition to Bowie and Hamilton, the touring band was made up of Mark Plati on lead and rhythm guitars, Gail Ann Dorsey on bass guitar, Sterling Campbell on drums, and Mike Garson on keyboards. On 2nd December 99 the group played a stunning show at the London Astoria, and the entire performance was recorded for live FM Radio Transmission. This new CD features this incredible concert released here on CD the first time.
