Dib Cochran & The Earwigs est un pseudonyme pour un groupe mené par Marc Bolan à la guitare et aux choeurs avec la participation supposée de David Bowie au saxophone. Les autres musiciens étaient :
Tony Visconti : basse et voix principale
Rick Wakeman : claviers
John Cambridge : batterie
Mickey Finn : congas, percussion, choeur
Ce groupe a sorti le single "Oh Baby / Universal Love" (Bell BLL1121) en août 1970 au Royaume-Uni. Les titres ont été enregistrés aux CTS Studios à Wembley en mars 1970. "Universal Love" est un titre instrumental.
On peut retrouver ce titre sur une compilation australienne de Marc Bolan "20th Century Boy" (EMI MARC 1) en 3 LP ainsi que sur l'excellent bootleg "With A Little Help From David Bowie". Un single de "Dib Cochran & The Earwigs - as Marc Bolan and Tony Visconti" est sorti en 1993 avec les titres :
Oh Baby / Universal Love / Deep Summer
On retrouve aussi les deux titres sur la compilation de Tyrannosaurus Rex "A Whole Zinc of Finches" en 5 cd + 1 dvd sortie le 25 octobre 2005.
